'Malvasja Riserva Leonard' Venezia Giulia Bianco IGT Castello di Rubbia 2009

This Malvasia reserve is an absolutely special wine, dedicated by the producer to his grandfather. The "Leonard" is a Malvasia cru from a historic vineyard, located on the alluvial fan of a sinkhole. A gem built by harvesting almost overripe, with an attack of noble rot. Long maceration with spontaneous fermentation and then aging in tonneaux and oak barriques for 12-18 months depending on the vintage. Another 12 months in steel to stabilize and finally another year in the bottle, for a result of great depth; the aromas are very complex, opening with a hint of citrus to evolve into fruity notes. Minerality and great structure envelop the palate leading us towards an intense and long finish. Fullness, complexity and structure. Dense and intense, exciting wine.
