Montefalco Rosso Riserva DOC is a full-bodied wine that is made only in the best vintages. The producer of this wine is the prestigious Caprai winery, a family-run Umbrian production company. This terroir label, produced for the first time in 1993, takes shape from a blend of Sangiovese (70%), Sagrantino (15%) and Merlot (15%) grapes, the fruit of vines grown on hilly soil within the area which has been recognized as DOC Montefalco since 1979. Montefalco Rosso Riserva DOC is the result of a careful harvest that selects only the best grapes. After harvesting, the bunches are transferred to the cellar, where they undergo a traditional red winemaking process, with fermentation in steel. Subsequently, the wine is aged for 20 months in French oak barriques, after which it is bottled. However, before being placed on the market it still ages in glass for 6 months. The finished product is a soft red and perfectly balanced by a vibrant and velvety tannin. A wine with a full sip, for a label with a good structure, deeply territorial, fine and long-lived, of absolute depth. A great Riserva of Montefalco Rosso!
