Nero d'Avola is an ancient native Sicilian vine, which takes its name from the city of Avola, on the Ionian coast of the Gulf of Noto, in the province of Syracuse. Based on the nature of the soil and the conditions of the microclimate, Nero d'Avola gives different results in the various Sicilian wine-growing areas. It is vinified in red (with prolonged maceration of the must in the skins, which give colour, aromatic substances and tannins), in purity giving rise to a wine with an intense ruby colour; well-pronounced aroma of small fruits (mulberry) and spices (black pepper); dry, full, vigorous flavour, with a pleasant aftertaste of jam. Amazing value for money.
