Terre Siciliane Nero d'Avola PGI is a wine that is produced in the Sicilian cellar Vito Curatolo Arini. The wine is produced in purity from the Nero d'Avola vine, whose vines are grown in central Sicily, both in Caltanissetta, between 350 and 500 meters above sea level on clayey sandstone soils and an exposure to the west, and in Piana del Cusatino, at about 500 meters above sea level, clayey-limestone soil and an exposure that faces south. In both locations the temperature range resulting from the altitude allows for perfect ripening of the grapes. After the harvest, the grapes used for the Terre Siciliane Nero d'Avola PGI are fermented in steel at a controlled temperature and then left to rest for a few months; the result is a precise, dynamic, sometimes enveloping wine. In the glass it is ruby red, with violet hues. The nose is expressed with hints of small red fruits, notes of violet and spicy hints. On the palate it is enveloping, with a velvety tannic texture and a pleasantly long finish.
