Sicilia Nero d'Avola DOC "Costadune" is undoubtedly one of the most famous and valuable wines produced by Mandrarossa. The winery is located in the small but picturesque village of Menfi, in the province of Agrigento: this place can boast a long-lived winemaking tradition, also thanks to the calcareous character of the soils and the particularly mild climate. The proximity of the vineyards to the sea gives the finished products a peculiar softness and a vaguely saline taste. For the Sicilia Nero d'Avola DOC "Costadune" 100% Nero d'Avola grapes are used, which grow on coastal soils characterized by the presence of sand dunes: from here derives the denomination of the red in question. Fermentation takes place via indigenous yeasts in steel tanks, for about 8 or 10 days. Refinement takes place in similar containers, a process that lasts a few months in all. The Sicilia Nero d'Avola DOC "Costadune" from the Mandrarossa winery is a medium-bodied wine with a discreet structure, intense and enveloping.
