Nocera Sicilia DOC Planeta 2018

Nocera Sicilia DOC is a red wine produced by the Planeta winery, interpreter of the most authentic enological soul of the island. It is obtained from the vinification of only Nocera grapes, an ancient local variety, which has always been linked to Messina viticulture. The vineyards overlook the sea and are located on the La Baronia plot, near Capo Milazzo. It is a vineyard inserted in an extraordinary landscape context, which enjoys the beneficial sea breezes and the nourishing contribution of the fertile soils. In the second half of September, only the best bunches are selected and harvested by hand. As soon as they arrive in the cellar they are subjected to a further selection and subsequently to destemming. Fermentation in contact with the skins in large steel tanks lasts for a week with careful temperature control. The wine then rests in steel tanks, keeping the varietal characteristics intact. Nocera Sicilia DOC is a ready-to-drink red, which is at its best even 2-3 years after bottling.
