'Nostradamus' Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Teramo Hills DOCG Ausonia 2015

Nostradamus Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Colline Teramane DOCG is a full-bodied red wine produced by the Ausonia winery. This label is obtained from the single-variety vinification of grapes from the appreciated local Montepulciano d'Abruzzo vine. The owned plots arise on soils with good percentages of clay and limestone, two elements that ensure drainage and nourishment for the vines cultivated with the Guyot system. When the bunches reach full maturity, generally towards the second half of October, the harvest is scheduled with manual selection. Once in the cellar, the grapes are destemmed and left to ferment in stainless steel tanks for three weeks at a carefully controlled temperature. The refinement involves two phases, a first passage of one year in oak barrels and a subsequent one in the bottle for 6 months. Nostradamus Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Colline Teramane DOCG is a perfect red wine to be enjoyed immediately, as well as after 4-5 years of rest in the cellar.
