Among the charming hills of Friuli Venezia Giulia, one of the most important Italian regions for the production of white wine, comes the Friuli Colli Orientali Pinot Grigio DOC from the Livio Felluga winery. The renowned Maison was founded in Brazzano, over sixty years ago, by the homonymous winemaker, considered the patriarch of the Friulian winemaking tradition. Today it boasts about 160 hectares that extend over the Colli Orientali del Friuli, where the climate is ideal for the grapes: the proximity to the Adriatic Sea makes the temperature mild and the frequent rains give the right humidity. The vine used for the production of Friuli Colli Orientali Pinot Grigio DOC is precisely Pinot Grigio in purity. After the rigorously manual harvest, the grapes are delicately pressed and then move on to the fermentation of the must in steel tanks. And the aging also takes place in large steel tanks, where the wine rests on the lees for about 6 months. We are talking about a white wine, fresh and enveloping, ready to drink, but which also lends itself to conservation for a few years in the cellar.
