Ravera Barolo DOCG is a prestigious red that comes from the great tradition of the Elvio Cogno winery. It is obtained from Nebbiolo grapes vinified in purity, coming from the Ravera vineyard, located about 380 meters above sea level. The soils have a clayey-calcareous composition, they are also compact and particularly rich in minerals, and are thus able to give the wine flavor and structure. The vines also enjoy an optimal climate for their development, thanks to the proximity of the Tanaro river which mitigates the cold Alpine currents. The harvest takes place at the beginning of October, when the bunches have reached the ideal qualities to move on to the subsequent phases of destemming and pressing. A rather long fermentation is then carried out in steel containers, to best enhance the characteristics of the grape. Finally, the wine ages in large oak barrels for a period of 24 months and then refines another 6 months directly in the bottle. This is how Ravera Barolo DOCG is obtained, a wine that is ready to drink immediately, but with great longevity that contains within it the peculiarities of the prestigious Langhe area.
