Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso Friuli Colli Orientali DOC is a structured red wine made by the Vigna Petrussa winery . It is obtained from the single-variety vinification of Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso grapes, a native variety that stands out for its intense vegetal scents. The vines are cultivated using the Guyot system and have their roots in marly soils rich in sand. Once they reach the optimal degree of ripeness, the bunches are subjected to careful manual selection. Once in the cellar, the grapes are destemmed and left to macerate in contact with the skins during the spontaneous alcoholic fermentation. The subsequent refinement takes place in precious oak barrels, where the wine remains for about two years, acquiring a pleasant complexity.
