Ribolla 'Classic' Simcic Marjan 2022

Ribolla Classic Brda is a mineral white wine from the Slovenian winery Simcic Marjan . It is obtained from the single-variety vinification of Ribolla Gialla grapes, grown on the prized Medana vineyard. The vines reach 30 years of age and are located about 250 meters above sea level, where they enjoy an excellent north-west exposure. The mineral richness of the marly and sandy substrate, with high percentages of slate, allows the grapes to acquire a marked finesse. The manual harvest is foreseen at the beginning of October with a rigorous selection of the best bunches. In the cellar the grapes are left to macerate on the skins for a couple of days and then fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks. In the same containers the wine ages for six months on the lees, to then complete the process with a rest of at least one month in the bottle. Excellent immediately, Ribolla Classic Brda can pleasantly surprise even after 2 or 3 years.
