'Rocca Rubia' Carignano del Sulcis Riserva DOC Santadi 2019

The Carignano del Sulcis Riserva 'Rocca Rubia' produced by the Santadi winery expresses a complex personality that speaks volumes for the company's philosophy. In fact, the project for this excellent wine was born from the desire to recover an autochthonous vine such as Carignano, a very rare enological excellence that was in danger of disappearing until a few years ago. An objective achieved by the cellar, which in this wine expresses the best of Carignano grapes vinified alone. The Carignano del Sulcis Riserva 'Rocca Rubia' is made starting from grapes grown in ungrafted vineyards with the traditional sapling cultivation method. They arise on a land composed of sand and clay, elements that contribute to giving the wine unique aromas. The grapes are harvested manually and fermented in steel tanks. The refinement process, on the other hand, takes place in French oak barriques and lasts up to 1 year. This intense and persistent wine is perfect to drink on the spot, but left to mature in the cellar for a few years, it evolves and improves surprisingly.
