Roger Amaro Tenere SottoBanco is a liqueur produced at the Vecchio Magazzino Doganale distillery in Pianetti, in Calabria. The factory, founded in 2016, is owned by a young expert in local plants inspired by his grandfather and by the ancient recipe for an amaro. The amaro is the careful result of a careful selection of citrus fruits and "botanicals" grown near the Agricultural Society thanks also to the particularly mild climate and soils rich in limestone and clay. The preparation takes place through the separate infusions at 80 °C of bitter orange, sweet orange, bergamot and lemon to which are added the rural infusions of coriander, gentian and quassia. For the purposes of the appellation, to produce Roger Amaro Tenere SottoBanco , the infusion of cinchona, gentian, quassia and carlina is required. The realization requires 9 months of time and 40 days of rest in the bottle. Roger Amaro Tenere SottoBanco is a very aromatic, rich, complex and really pleasant liqueur, very versatile that can be kept for a long time. Once opened, it can stay in the refrigerator for a year.
