Rum 'Chairman’s Reserve' Saint Lucia Distillers 2005 70cl

Chairman's Reserve Rum is one of the most appreciated and well-known spirits of the Saint Lucia Distillers company. Since the early seventies it has been operating on the paradisiacal island of Saint Lucia, in the Caribbean Sea, one of the world's homelands in the production of rum. The tropical climate, combined with a careful selection of raw materials, creates the ideal conditions for obtaining excellent distillates. The process used is the classic one and involves the fermentation of the sweet molasses in large open-air tanks. Distillation is very important and requires the use of special copper column stills. The liqueur was born as a blend of rum, which brings together young spirits with others that have undergone more prolonged aging. Finally, the distillate is left to mature in oak barrels, where Bourbon had previously been kept, in order to give the alcohol intense aromas. Chairman's Reserve Rum is perfect for an after-dinner tasting and will know its maximum value after 4 or 5 years of ageing.
