Vinopuro's advices
Recommended glass
Glass
Medium Open Goblet
Glass
It is the perfect goblet for light and medium-structured white wines; these wines do not require prolonged contact with oxygen to best enhance their bouquet. Indeed, a slightly narrower opening of the glass is recommended: this helps the concentration and the direction of the aromas towards the nose. In this way, the perception of the aromas is increased, enhancing the sensations.

Description

The Friuli Colli Orientali Sauvignon DOC wine has become a great classic of the Friulian "bianchistica" production, proposed by the Bastianich winery; an important production reality founded by Joe Bastianich, entrepreneur and television personality, who has managed to combine the ancient local winemaking traditions with the most modern processing techniques. This white is the result of the vinification of pure Sauvignon Blanc grapes, which 50% comes from owned vineyards and the other 50% from rented vineyards. Both properties are cultivated in a hilly area, on soils rich in Eocene marl, with a calcareous base. After the harvest, the bunches are selected on sorting benches, then destemmed. A cryomaceration process follows, at the end of which they are pressed very softly. Subsequently, the must is decanted, after which it undergoes fermentation. Finally, after being bottled, Friuli Colli Orientali Sauvignon DOC ages in glass for a month. The end result is a sumptuous white. A persistent, fresh and elegant wine, for a label that has received various national and international awards, including that of the authoritative wine critic James Suckling and his magazine Wine Spectator.
