The Schiava 'Turmhof' wine from the South Tyrolean company Tiefenbrunner is a delicate red. Made by vinifying the autochthonous vine of the same name in purity, this wine best represents the characteristics of this particular grape, with a pale color and unique taste. The vineyards from which the 'Turmhof' is obtained are found on sloping hilly terrain which is particularly rich in gravel and limestone, fundamental elements for giving the grapes high quality characteristics. After the harvest and a period of maceration on the skins, the wine is rigorously fermented in steel. Subsequently it is aged for about 2 months in large oak barrels to maintain its fresh and delicate character, but at the same time develop more rounded aromas. Tiefenbrunner's Schiava 'Turmhof' wine can easily be left to rest in the cellar for at least three or four years: in fact, it enjoys a natural ability to evolve and develop increasingly complex and balanced aromas over time.
