Description
The Sentiero delle gerle Etna Rosso DOC of the Mandrarossa winery comes from the Nerello Mascalese vine grown with the counter-espalier method on the south-eastern slope of the Etna volcano characterized by calcareous soil. The grapes are harvested in the first half of October and then macerated and fermented for 10 - 12 days. The wine is then aged for a period ranging from 10 months to a year in French oak barrels. The volcanic soil on which the vines grow gives this wine unique characteristics, such as the freshness and elegance of the tannins. Mandrarossa, born in 1999, is a winery that is characterized by innovation which is essentially a modern reinterpretation of ancient methods of winemaking and cultivation, in order to best enhance the properties and characteristics of the native grapes. The Sentiero delle gerle Etna Rosso DOC of the Mandrarossa winery is all this and its taste summarizes the combination between the grape variety and the area where it is grown. A truly pleasant wine that tells us in the glass all the charm of the volcanic land from which it comes.
