'Sherazade' Sicily DOC Donnafugata 2021

Nero d'Avola "Sherazade" is a red wine that belongs to the denomination Sicilia DOC Nero d'Avola. It is produced on the Contessa Entellina estate owned by the Donnafugata agricultural company, in south-western Sicily. The name of the wine derives from the protagonist of the famous collection of oriental fairy tales "The Thousand and One Nights". Nero d'Avola "Sherazade" is produced using exclusively Nero d'Avola grapes. This native vine of Sicily, more precisely of the Syracuse area, manages to express itself perfectly in its land of origin, giving life to red wines with a great personality. Here the arid and windy climate, combined with the strong temperature variations between day and night, guarantees the growth of healthy grapes with a strong aroma. The harvest begins at the end of August and is rigorously done by hand. The fermentation of the must takes place in stainless steel containers while the refinement takes place initially in the tank and subsequently in the bottle. The result is a fragrant wine, also suitable as an aperitif.
