'Sito dell'Ulmo' Merlot Sicilia Menfi DOC Planeta 2018

Sito dell'Ulmo Merlot Sicilia Menfi DOC is an elegant red wine, made by the Planeta winery, one of the most important on the island. It is obtained from the exclusive vinification of Merlot grapes, an international variety which in this appellation reaches excellent quality levels. On the shores of Lake Arancio, near Agrigento, there are the vineyards from which the bunches come. Here the vines enjoy the beneficial influences of the winds and temperature variations between day and night, two factors that contribute to the production of healthy and structured grapes. After the harvest, the selected grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks. The subsequent refinement lasts over a year and takes place in oak barriques, which give great complexity to the wine, before bottling. Sito dell'Ulmo Merlot Sicilia Menfi DOC is a red that can be appreciated immediately, or after careful storage of 3-4 years in the cellar.
