'Sot Lis Rivis' Pinot Grigio Friuli Isonzo DOC Ronco del Gelso 2021

The Pinot Grigio Sot Lis Rivis Ronco del Gelso is a well-structured still white wine with a good overall freshness. Its name derives from the homonymous Friulian locality of Sot Lis Rivis where the vineyards from which the grapes that give rise to this wine are grown, a real cru. An area particularly suitable for the cultivation of Pinot Gris, which is harvested as late as possible to have a riper and therefore juicier and tastier grape. The particular taste of Sot Lis Rivis is obtained thanks to the fermentation of the grapes in large oak barrels, which are never new. The wood thus contributes to giving the wine that particular range of aromas that make it so special. The Ronco del Gelso winery represents one of the excellences of the Friuli Venezia Giulia wine production. A production aimed at safeguarding and respecting the environment: the organic method has been fully embraced in the vineyards, while in the cellar everything is focused on the hyper-oxygenation of the musts. From these techniques wines such as Sot Lis Rivis come to life, a great complex wine with a soft and persistent taste.
