The organic red Torrette Valle d'Aosta DOC was born on the steep slopes of Ollignan, in the heart of the Aosta Valley. The heroic vineyards are located at over 600 meters above sea level, are beaten by the Fohn winds and enjoy optimal lighting. The Grosjean winery 's love for this impervious but wonderful land began in the 1700s and found its fulfillment with grandfather Dauphin, who half a century ago decided to indulge nature by eliminating the use of pesticides and acaricides. Since 2000, the company has been using renewable energy and in 2011 received organic certification. The organic red Torrette Valle d'Aosta DOC is mainly obtained from Petit Rouge grapes, together with other native vines such as Fumin and Cornalin. After all, the designation of origin is the only one in the area, even if it includes something like 31 sub-denominations. After aging in steel, the wine is ready to be tasted, but if stored properly it ages well for another 2-3 years.
