Verdun Pelaverga DOC Giovanni Sordo 2021

Verduno Pelaverga DOC is a red wine produced by the Piedmontese winery Giovanni Sordo which stands out for its intense aromas and spicy notes. It is obtained from the vinification of only Pelaverga grapes, an autochthonous dark grape variety, little known outside the denomination, which the company intends to enhance. Among the rows the practices are inspired by principles of environmental sustainability, aimed at limiting human intervention and consequently allowing the Tortona terroir to emerge forcefully. The manual harvest generally takes place between September and October, during which only the best bunches are collected and transported to the cellar. Here the vinification begins with a long fermentation in contact with the skins in steel tanks. For refinement, the company always prefers steel containers, where the wine rests for about 6 months. Perfect already after bottling, Verduno Pelaverga DOC can reserve great satisfaction after a further evolution of a couple of years.
