Vinopuro's advices
Recommended glass
Glass
Ballon
Glass
It is the perfect glass for structured, intense, aged red wines or potentially suitable for refinement; this type of wine certainly needs to "open" (that means to better develop its aromatic, intense and complex profile) and this is possible by the prolonged contact with oxygen (oxygenation) which, in fact, is facilitated by the generous cup size.

Longevity
This wine is ready to be tasted now, with great satisfaction; however, it has qualities that allow it to evolve and refine over time, if properly stored, for at least another 7-8 years.

Description

The Vigna Ganger Alto Adige Pinot Nero Riserva DOC is one of the most interesting proposals from the Girlan winery. The Bolzano winery has a long history behind it and has been operating for almost 100 years in South Tyrol, more precisely in Cornaiano. The vineyards from which the grapes for this wine are born are located between 400 and 500 meters above sea level and develop within an area with a microclimate particularly favorable to viticulture. The soil rich in clayey components and the breezy climate are elements that create perfect conditions for optimal ripening of the grapes. The selection of the best bunches of Pinot Noir, used in 100% purity to obtain Vigna Ganger, is followed by delicate destemming and then moving on to the alcoholic fermentation which takes place for about 3 weeks in steel tanks. The wine then matures in French oak barriques for 20 months, finally completing the refinement process in the bottle. Vigna Ganger Alto Adige Pinot Nero Riserva DOC is excellent for immediate consumption, but can evolve further if kept for a few years in the cellar.
