The Querciantica Vino e Visciole from the Velenosi winery is a visciolato, or more commonly called sour cherry wine. Sweet and aromatic, it is produced in the Marche region. This drink, flavored with wine and sour cherries, was already known in antiquity at the time of Duke Federico da Montefeltro. Used to enrich the banquets of nobles and peasant tables, this sweet wine has crossed the centuries from the Middle Ages to reach us today. For the production of Querciantica Vino e Visciole, sour cherries are used, small wild cherries that are acidulous in their ripening. These are macerated with the addition of sugar. The syrup obtained is filtered and then added to the wine, in this case made from Montepulciano grapes. The final product is a drink to be savored slowly and savored. Once considered a wine suitable for women due to its softness and fragrance, it is now considered a sweet wine of the Marche tradition to be shared in company.
