This fine distillate comes from the Speyside region and precisely from the famous Glenburgie distillery, no longer active. Aging in ex-Sherry barrels. One of the first to establish itself as a regular brewer in the Speyside region, Glenburgie Distillery officially began distilling in 1829 under the name Kilnflat. The distillery was renamed Glenburgie in 1878 after a period of disuse. The distillery is located between the town of Forres and the Royal Burgh of Elgin, near the village of Alves. At the glass this fine distillate is a deep gold color. Fresh and fruity on the nose. Aromas of vanilla custard and baked green apple lead to velvety notes of white chocolate. Hints of elderflower lend a subtle floral edge. On the palate, the initial black pepper reveals the flavors of the pear dusted with cocoa powder. Vibrant citrus notes contrast the sweet undertones of baked apple. Nuances of fresh ginger. Complex!
