An exciting new addition to the Finlaggan family of Islay single malt Scotch whiskies. Many years ago, for the first time large barrels from the Spanish region of Rioja where the famous Spanish red wines were aged were placed in the cellar. These barrels have contributed to the fame of Finlaggan by giving very special notes. The result is a texture of soft, smoky, truly intriguing notes. Extraction from oak barrels has given this whiskey a very special natural coppery, rose gold colour. The first batch is limited to 7,000 bottles and bottled at 46% Vol without filtration. Bouquet: delicious smoke of sweet peat and red berry fruits. Taste: Smoked bacon and strawberries with notes of plums, sea salt and chewy, earthy peat. Peated notes on the finish. Very particular.
