The Akashi Whiskey Single Malt 4Y.O. Red Wine Cask is a limited edition whiskey produced by the Japanese distillery Akashi White Oak Distillery . Located in Kobe Bay, the distillery manages to make the most of the mild climate of the Japanese coast, obtaining finely salted malt and other high quality grains. Precisely the excellent raw material is the basis of the production of very fine whiskeys, whose production quantities are voluntarily kept low to always guarantee their quality. The Akashi Whiskey Single Malt 4Y.O. Red Wine Cask is a new production of the distillery, which is based on an innovative technique with surprising results. The barley malt distillate, in fact, is aged for three and a half years in barrels that have previously contained Cognac and which are therefore rich in particular aromas and scents. After this period, it is aged for 10 months in red wine barrels. Finally the whiskey is deposited in barrels without cold filtration and without adding colourings. Thus was born an original whiskey, fruity and intense, truly exciting and particular.
